My Plans for a Flip Ultra Recovering a Sense of Identity
Sep 09

Testing out some new scripts over the past few days, which has resulted in my blog being down on and off.  Unfortunately, I’d started out making edits directly through Wordpress, but didn’t download the changed template files, so I lost some of my little widgets.

The biggest change you’ll see is the lifestream.  I really liked the lifestream feed in the new Wordpress Template Agregado, so I hacked it up a bit for my own use.  I still need to work on the formatting, but I like how it is coming together.  I’ve incorporated Twitter, Google Reader, Tumblr, Last.fm, Flickr and my commented-on Friend Feed RSS.  I’m still thinking about doing two FF logos - one with a little “comments” attached to it and one with a little “likes” and having the two streams show separately.

On another blog I saw a different way of organizing old posts.  Instead of just doing a category list or a list of the last 5 posts, they broke up their categories into separate boxes and listed the most recent posts in each box.  They thought it a little more click-friendly and I agree.  I also decided to limit myself to 4 main categories and use tags more.  Which I haven’t done yet.  I plan on adding a tagcloud as soon as I have time to tag my old posts.
